Respite Care
Do you like to bounce a ball with a child? have tea parties? color and glue? We have the ministry for you! Parents of a child with special needs often have trouble finding a babysitter so they can go to the movies, have dinner out, otherwise spend time as a regular couple. Once a month, Faith Presbyterian offers babysitting services at the church for these families. This ministry team asks for an every-other-month commitment (six times a year!) and because there are children there of all ages and abilities, this is a ministry your whole family can be involved in. Email Holly Wilks or call her at 256-682-8886 for more information.
Habitat for Humanity
Men and women are needed to do general carpentry, roofing, electrical work, installing kitchen cabinets and vinyl siding, painting, landscaping, and general cleaning. Email or call Doug Franklin or Renee Savelle (256.880.9712) to sign up, or for more information!
Groups from Faith work on two "blitz builds" each year, but Habitat requires volunteers all year long.
Worship at the Downtown Rescue Mission
The Downtown Rescue Mission provides temporary housing and support to individuals and families in crisis. Once a month, Faith Presbyterian leads a 30-minute, informal worship service at the Mission. Say a prayer, read a scripture, sing a song, or simply join in joyful worship ...
call (881-2074) or email Frank Broyles for more information.
Entertaining Angels Hospitality Ministry
Faith Presbyterian Church often hosts visitors - groups of teenagers from South Africa who stay for two weeks ... mission teams from Pennsylvania on their way to the gulf coast who stay for one night ... and everything in between.
If you can provide a casserole, a dessert, or a welcoming smile and a conversation, call (881-2074) or email Frank Broyles for more information.
